Spring Things
The poppies came and went.
Poppies in the Antelope Valley that came and went too soon—victims of our March heat wave.
This tea from Trader Joe’s. Great coffee substitute and even better with a spoonful of honey.
The Dinosaurs docuseries on Netflix. A little too video gamey for me at times and broke my brain on how they know so much about dinosaurs, but I’m here for it. And, except for the inevitable humbling end, it’s a nice balm for endless wars and bad news.
This new show from the mayor of Flavortown. (Another balm for unprecedented times.)
Season 2 of The Pitt. I feel like it breaks all the rules of story telling but maybe that’s what makes it good? My friend Julie calls it competency porn and I think she’s right.
The film, Sentimental Value. Not sure if I actually liked it or if I fell in love with the house the film is about.
Rewatch of Eyes Wide Shut and a deep dive into the Epstein conspiracy theories...
Gels! Vitamin C for immune support, Sea Moss for antioxidants and hydration, and Aloe Vera (inner filet) for gut stuff. Are they working? I’m not sure. Will I keep taking them? Yes.
Pitted date cut in half, add peanut butter, and reassemble. So good.
This quote by Thomas Mann that made me lol:
A writer is someone for whom writing is more difficult than it is for other people.
Offseason by Avigayl Sharp out this May.
Chelsea Hodson’s new album, Philosophy.
This Maybe Baby essay about Disney Adults.
You’re invited to this event on April 26 at the Wende Museum! I’ll be there, reading about potatoes. 🥔 RSVP here :)
I’ll leave you with this photo of me on my birthday, eating, what else? Potatoes.
Happy Aries season. 🐏
